The hotel is inder renovation. This should have been stipulated in the booking information. We had to move hotels because the room given us was not as per advertised in the website.

What was the highlight of The Oriental Hotel Legazpi

The location is nice and the spacious lobby looks lovely. The Saigon restaurant is nice. The pool is nice since it is overlooking the Mayon Volcano. The room is quite big.

The bathroom sink has black molds. The initial water coming out of the faucet is brownish in colour. The room safe is not functioning. The pillows do not smell fresh. The hinges on the glass door in the shower are rusty and might fall off. We paid for an extra bed, but it was never installed during our 2 nights stay.

The view and welcoming staffs!

My parents and I love the view and the breakfast however the hotel is not well maintained and has lots of molds in the pool area, peeling wallpapers, rusty and stained shower area, clogged toilet, stained on the towels, super old furnitures. The wifi connection is the worst! Overall, not worth the money. The hotel has to renovate lots of things here. They need to have a total renovation for a great stay. Below are images taken inside the twin bedroom! :(

I liked just the pool and the view.

The room was dirty, I saw a cockroach near the cups and kettle. Veranda was also not clean. Bathroom has a weird smell. Currently under construction so if you’re planning on staying in the hotel, don’t because it’s so noisy til 10PM. Food is mediocre and overpriced.

I love the hospitality and warm welcome of the staff. They are very kind and accommodating. Always greets you with a smile and would go out of their way to help you with your needs.

i forgot my comb and when i asked the hotel if they have one available for sale they said they dont have. I have stayed in Legazpi in other hotels and in my experienced even the smallest hotel do provide those things. For sale or for free they have grooming kits for guest needs.

Location with Mt Mayon and City view

The food is so awful @ Jasmine we ordered 3 pizzas and it take more than an hour to be served and it was not well cooked ending up we did not eat all. Also, we are on the 2nd floor and already ordered our drinks and we were told to go down coz they are closed down due to rain. It is five star so food should be five star and five star service as well.

Staff were all very helpful and attentive. The food was great.

- The hotel is currently under renovation (which they do say when you get there) although not really a big of a deal as the rooms were generally clean. - We availed the massage service at their spa. The massage itself was good but the masseuses were giggling and chitchatting while watching the football game on tv during the latter part of the session. That slightly didn’t help with making the massage a relaxing activity. But again, we didn’t make a big of a deal out of it. However, it didn’t sit well with me when I heard that my non-Filipino friends also experienced the same thing when they had the service done the previous night. My non-Filipino friends were bothered because they couldn’t understand what the women were saying and felt that the masseuses could have been talking about them. Because the women were slightly distracted, it also lessened the pressure of the massage. I think there is always a time for everything. Also keep in mind that you have guests from everywhere around the world and should show more respect and sensitivity to different nationalities. If the situation was in reverse, I don’t think any Filipino would appreciate being in the same room with non-Filipinos talking in their own language and not being able to understand anything.

The hotel needs a total renovation. We saw three small roaches in our room. We requested to have us transferred to another room wherein the walls looked more worn out than our first room and the comforter smelled damp and unpleasant.

the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom is horrible. having moulds in the sink is unacceptable to a rated 5 star hotel... we requested for another room with clean bathroom but they gave us 4 different rooms with the same moulds growing in the sink. i spoke to the manager about my concerns but He is more willing to just check us out of the hotel than entertaining our concerns about having unclean bathroom.. I had plan to have a dinner with my family but then our time just wasted transferring from one room to another because of cleanliness concern. Thank you for ruining my suppose to be a “great birthday celebration” in Oriental Hotel.

The view of Legazpi and its natural landmarks are sublime and worth the price of the hotel. Staff were friendly and attentive and made the stay enjoyable. Special mention for Analyn, John and Bhaz who were wonderful.
